The idea of forming the Alumni Association has long been mooted, until 2013, a group of former students successfully registered the Association formally. The effort was successful due to the joint effort of the founders of the Association which consists of former students from Class of '92, '94, '00, '02, and '09. With the new approach taken by the Registrar of Society (ROS), the process of registering an association has been made easy and the Association was successfully registered and simultaneously, officially formed under the Societies Act 1966 on the 10th of September 2013 bearing the name, Persatuan Alumni SMK Taman Tun Dr. Ismail Kuala Lumpur with the registration number of PPM-004-14-10092013.
